Jamaican electric mobility company Flash Motors has been appointed the official sales and service distributor for Geely Auto International, a China-based automotive manufacturer and a top-ten global automotive group.

In the coming months, Flash Motors Company Limited will launch the Geely Auto Showroom at a location it recently secured.

Geely’s portfolio includes internationally respected brands such as Volvo, the Swedish pioneer of modern automotive safety; Lotus, the legendary British high-performance sports car manufacturer; Polestar, the global electric performance brand; Zeekr, a premium luxury EV marque; and Riddara.

The addition of the Geely passenger vehicle brand strengthens Flash’s relationship with the broader Geely Group. In 2025, Flash Motors, a member of the Automotive Dealers Association (ADA), was appointed as the Jamaican distributor for Farizon Auto, Geely’s global commercial vehicle division.

According to Flash Motors CEO Xavier Gordon, “This partnership is about more than introducing a brand. It represents Jamaicans gaining access to the same electrified vehicle technology and innovation that is transforming transportation across Europe, Asia, and North America.”

He added that the new partnership positions Jamaica as one of the world’s fastest-growing electric vehicle ecosystems.

As rapidly rising global oil prices continue to impact fuel costs, electrified vehicles are emerging as an important pathway for long-term economic resilience. In 2025, Geely’s total vehicle sales rose 39 per cent year-on-year to over 3.02 million units. More than half of that, 1.68 million units, came from new energy vehicles (NEVs), increasing their sales in that category by a massive 90 per cent.

In China, the world’s leading automobile market, Geely produced the number-one selling EV of 2025. The Geely vehicles being introduced locally were first unveiled through the company’s European operations in Frankfurt, one of the world’s most influential automotive innovation centres.

With operations already extending into several Caribbean markets, Flash Motors has built infrastructure and partnerships that position Jamaica as a regional hub for electric mobility.

All Geely passenger vehicles introduced by Flash Motors will carry five-star safety ratings under the Euro NCAP assessment programme, one of the world’s most respected independent vehicle safety benchmarks.

“Jamaican drivers and families deserve the same level of protection found in the world’s most advanced automotive markets,” Gordon added.

Flash Motors will provide full dealership support for the Geely brand locally, including sales, servicing, warranty coverage, and parts supply, through its Kingston offices. The introduction of Geely vehicles marks another step in Flash Motors’ mission to make Jamaica one of the most advanced electric mobility markets in the Caribbean.
